Terence and I have had such a great weekend so far. On Friday I took the day off to spend some time with our boys and get some things done around the house. I love being home with the boys, I feel like I miss so much when I am away from them all day. Terence and I had a date night planned on Friday night so we met up in Redmond at my parents house to drop the boys off and we went out to dinner. We are trying to be fiscally responsible so we were doing a date on a budget. We went to Claim Jumper because I get a prime card discount through them. Then we went fishing out on Tye Lake. It was so nice to just sit with Terence and have time to talk and enjoy each others company. My Mom and Dad kept the kids over night for us since that is easier then picking them up late in Redmond. Terence and I picked up some ice cream for dessert on the way home and by 9:30 we were sitting on the couch watching TV. I told T that this was a glimpse into what the future was going to be like. I love having little kids, the things they say, the way everything is new to them. However I do look forward to the day when Terence and I will be able to have more time to spend together.
Saturday morning we went and picked the kids up from my parents house (thank you Mom and Dad!). They had a great time playing outside with my parents and eating apples off the apple tree. Basically doing all the fun things you do when you go to Grandparents house. Since we were in Redmond we decided it would be fun to go see Grammy and Pop. They have a huge flat backyard that the kids love to play in but for most of the summer it has been too wet. Yesterday it was finally dry enough for them to go out there. They played Golf, t-ball, soccer, caught a frog. Once again basically enjoying all the fun things that little boys get to do.
Saturday evening we had Scott and Melissa over for dinner and games. We don't get to see them as often as we would like but we have such a great time when we do. Our game of choice is still Pinochle and although Melissa and I usually get lose we are getting better and we won a couple of times. I loved being able to spend my weekend with some of my favorite people in the world. I am bummed it had to end and I'm back at work today. Oh well, looking forward to next weekend!
