Last night Terence and I were sitting on our bed talking while the kids were in the bath (in our bathroom). This is a pretty regular occurrence in our house. Another pretty regular occurrence in our house is the kids splashing, jumping, goofing off and generally do things in the bath that we have to constantly tell them not to. Last night I could hear the two of them playing in the tub so I went in there and told them to stop jumping and to sit down. As I was leaving the bathroom I heard the unmistakable sound of a child's head smacking something and the accompanying scream that follows. I turned around to see Connor hold his eye with his hand. When I moved his hand away I saw blood and panicked a little because I could not tell if it was coming from his eye or just above it. I got him out of the bath, cleaned his eye up an realized that it was a cut just above his eye. I held a towel on it while Terence ran downstairs and got a band aid. We debated for a minute whether or not we thought he needed stitches and decided he did not. We put the band aid on it, kissed it better and let him snuggle in our bed with us for a little while until he felt better. This morning when I took the band aid off I was grateful to see that the cut had closed up and was holding together. He defiantly has a black eye though. When I was taking pictures of it for this blog Corey wanted me to take pictures of his "owies" too (even though he does not have one). Once again I guess it's the price I pay for being the mother of two very rough and tumble little boys.
By the way Corey may not have any owies but he does have mustard on his face from his hot dogs for lunch.
