Tyson at 11/12 Months

I know this post is late!  Terence was commenting tonight that he has not checked my blog in weeks and it took him two minutes to catch up because there were only two blogs.  So here goes.  Tyson has officially moved from baby to toddler stage.  He took his first steps a couple of weeks ago and just today has gone from mostly crawling to mostly walking.  He's still somewhat unsteady on his feet but is getting better by the minute.  He wants nothing more then to be able to keep up with his brothers and is doing a pretty good job.  At this very moment the boys are wrestling with daddy and Tyson is right there in on the action.  Tyson is the sweetest baby and we are so lucky to have him.  Terence and I were reflecting the other day on the fact that we can't imagine what our family would be like without him.  It just feels like he has always been with us.

Tyson stats for 11-12 months:
  • he has six teeth, two on the bottom and four on top
  • the four on top all came in at once
  • he's a sleeping champ!  Takes two naps during the day and sleeps mostly through the night
  • he loves music and likes it when people sing (especially his daddy)
  • he says Mama, Dada and has started pretending to bark like a dog
  • he is in 18 month clothes, skipped right over 12 month
  • he is in an upright, rear facing car seat
  • he eats just about anything you put in front of him, he's not picky
  • we are waiting till the 23rd to cut his hair but he really needs it now!

Putting up the Tree

Here are a couple of pictures of us putting up our Christmas tree this year.  One of my favorite traditions is putting the tree up as a family.  We love looking at each ornament and reflecting on who gave it to us or where it's from.  This year our ornaments are on only the top half of the tree because Mr Tyson is in the toddler stage and thinks they are great toys to play with.

Birthday Date

Terence took me on the best date for my birthday this year.  We started out the evening by heading out to the Tulalip Casino.  We decided we were going to spend a set limit of $100 on gambling and once that was gone we were done.  I went to a slot machine, sat down for less then a minute and lost $20.  So we decided to try our luck at a table game.  Terence sat down and in about 20 minutes won $40 at blackjack.  Once he was done there we went to a really nice resteraunt that is inside the casino.  The food was really good.  Terence had salmon and I had a steak.  They also gave us some delicious birthday cake for dessert.  The service in the resteraunt was AMAZING.  I would recommend it!  After dinner we went back out to the casino and tried again on a slot machine.  This time I sat down, played for about 5 minutes and won 35 dollars.  So overall for the night we ended up, up!
After we were done at the casino we went over to Walmart and walked around for a little bit, kid free!  It was nice not to have to rush and tell kids no a thousand times when they asked for things.  It was the best birthday!  I hope I don't have to wait another year to do it again.

Connor at 6

Connor turned six on October 29th.  I cannot believe I have a six year old!  He is the kindest kid I know.  He's also compassionate, loving, helpful, obedient and in general just wants to be good.  He makes us laugh everyday!  Connor loves being a big brother and he does a great job at it.  He's in kindergarten this year and is doing really well.  He is learning math, sounding out words, spelling and reading.  He will sound out just about anything he sees and is usually pretty close.  Last night he read me Green Eggs and Ham.  We are so blessed to have this boy in our lives.  He really just wants to be kind and loving.  I am so excited to see what this next year holds for him.

New posts coming

If I write this down and commit to it I have to do it.  I have a few new posts that I need to write this week.

  • Connor's six year update
  • what I am thankful for this year
  • Tyson's 11 month update
I am sure there are a couple more I need to do but those are my top of mind posts.  Look for them in the next couple of days!
