Blowing out the candles

This should have been with the birthday blog but I forgot I had it so I am adding it to a seperate blog.  This is Brooks blowing out his birthday candles.  So cute!

Brush AND Floss

I have a confession to make.  I am not a flosser.  I went to the dentist yesterday and as always they ask me if you floss.  Instead of beating around the bush I told the dentist "I have not willingly flossed a day in my live".  He laughed at that and then reminded me of the importance of flossing so now...I am trying to be a flosser.  Lets see if it's possible to change a habit or rather create a habit I have never had for almost 30 years (UGH I cannot believe I wrote 30 when referring to my age, but I digress)!  Anyway I have flossed two nights in a row now and really, it's not so bad.  Maybe this won't be so hard.

Fun with friends

Last night we had the opportunity to have our good friends over for dinner.  They are visiting from Colorado and it was SO fun to see them.  We also had Jared and Emily over for dinner (it was nice to see them too).  I made pot roast, baked potatoes and salad and Emily made really good bread sticks.  After dinner we broke out the Kinect and did a couple of tournaments husbands vs. wives.  The wives lost.  We are so sad to see Nate and Krista go back to Colorado!  It was so nice to see them I just wish we could spend more time with them.

Sleep Over!

On Saturday night the boys had their first "sleep over".  Our friends had a work party to go to and were going to get home really late so instead of having them pick the kids up at 3am we just had them come in the morning.  We made babel pizzas for dinner and watched a movie.  The kids slept pretty well only waking up once in the middle of the night and going right back to sleep.  I was happy to have them over and would be glad to do it again.

Brooks Jr Birthday

I cannot believe I am this far behind!  Here are some pictures from when my sister was in town and we celebrated my nephew Brooks' second birthday.  I cannot believe that cute boy is 2 already!

My Sister said...

I need to blog more but I am out of time tonight and need to go to bed.  SO I promise I will blog tomorrow.  I have not been doing well with my 365 goal for 2011 but hope to catch up at some point.  Today has been really busy but really fun.  Details tomorrow.  Good night!

Nice Day

We had a really nice day today!  We got up around 8:00 and decided we were going to go to Costco today.  We really needed groceries!  Terence also wanted to look for some stuff to add to his mini weight room out in the garage so we decided to stop by target too.  We had a very successful trip to Costco and did not spend nearly as much as I thought we would which is always nice.  After eating lunch there we headed over to Target.  They did not have what Terence needed so we stopped buy Big Five in Monroe on the way home.  He bought a jump rope and an ab roller thing.  Once we got home and got all the groceries out of the car Terence headed out to the gym and I laid down with the boys for some quite time.
Tonight we had Kavan and Kiah over for the kids first "sleep over". Our friends had a work party to go to tonight and we said we would watch the kids for them so they could go.  They were not going to get home until really late so we said we would just keep the kids over night.  We had homemade bagel pizzas for dinner (which were really good!) and then the kids settled down around 8:00 to watch a movie.  All of them were sound asleep by 10.  I hope they stay that way all night, fingers crossed.

It was just a really great day and so nice to spend time with the family.

by the way, sorry if this blog seems kind of scatter brained, I'm feeling scatter brained right now.

That would make us both sad

Yesterday on the drive home from work Connor and Corey were talking about wedding rings. Connor said he would wear a wedding ring when he married Corey.  I explained to him that he could not marry Corey because he was his brother and he was a boy.  I told them that boys marry girls.  Corey went on to tell me he was going to marry Giselle (a girl in his class at school) and Connor said he was going to marry Kiah.  Kiah is Connor's best friend Kavan's little sister.  Well Corey thought that sounded like a pretty good idea so he said he was going to marry Kiah too.  I started recording them as this discussion was going on.  This makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Wow!

It's 7:00pm and my family is all asleep in bed.  Terence came home from work today and was not feeling well so he took some cold medicine and went to bed right after dinner.  I stayed home sick from work today so the boys were with me all day and did not take a nap.  Around 6 they both started getting cuddly and sleepy and now they are both asleep.  Terence just got a call to see if he wanted to go play volleyball tonight.  I tried to wake him up but when I went back in there a few minutes later he was out again.  we shall see if he actually makes it to volleyball.  Other then that I'm sitting on the couch watching TV debating if I should write a couple more blogs or veg out for a few hours.  Maybe I will try to get to bed early too since I have not been sleeping well lately.

Sisters!

I love this picture of Emily, Heather and I.  I don't think we have one of the three of us together but these are two of my favorite people on the planet!  It also helps that we all look AMAZING in this picture.

Grocery Shopping

The other day I posted on Facebook that I either needed to clean or go grocery shopping.  I decided to clean because I can live without food but I cannot live with a messy house.  I did a quick clean of my refrigerator and realized that I literally had nothing except condiments left.  We did end up getting some basic groceries this weekend but could still use a trip to Costco at some point.  This is what my fridge looked like once I cleaned it out.

Guilty Pleasuers

I have three guilty pleasures right now.  Embarrassing as they are to admit...

The Les Mis 25th anniversary concert
Alfie Boe
Watching videos of people taking pregnancy tests on YouTube (look it up, there are thousands of them)

That's all :).

Some Random Pictures

These are all pictures from my phone.  I like them so thought I would share, sorry some of them are fuzzy!
Terence in his sharp new suit

Corey was running a fever so he came to work with me.  His lunch consisted of french fries, Thomas Kemper cherry soda and an apple

I owed him a milkshake.  Terence went to the Sounders game last night with his Dad so I took the boys to Red Robin

Connoe looking at the lights and playing with his trucks

Terence brought home sweat bands from the game.  The boys could not wait to wear them.

Connor looking an awful lot like his daddy.  I probably have 10 pictures of Terence like this.

They boys have been big on playing in the crate lately.  The like to pretend they are the dogs.  No, we don't actually lock them in.

Can you...

Call in crazy to work?  I don't know what is wrong with me but I have been feeling really out of sorts lately.  Restless, mostly.  I don't feel like I can stop my brain for spinning at a million miles an hour.  I could probably use a good nights rest or at least a break.  I can't really name one thing in particular that I am spinning on, it's really everything.  I know it's weird and I am having a hard time articulating it.  I do know that I am having a hard time concentrating on anything because there are so many things running through my head, I can't stop on one long enough to do anything productive with it.  Now I'm rambling.  I guess back to work since I don't think you can call in crazy...

Sinus Infection

Today I was literally getting Corey out of the car to drop him off at daycare when I realized he was running a fever again.  They won't take you child if they have a fever so I ended up having to take Corey with me to work.  On the way in I called the doctor to see if they could get him in today and made an appointment for 1:30.  In the mean time Corey hung out with me in the office.  He was not feeling great so he was pretty lethargic compared to his normal goofy self.  He watched a couple of movies on my phone, colored on my white board and had some lunch.  At the doctors office the doctor listened to his lungs, checked his ears, throat and sinuses.  Turns out he has a sinus infection that is a result of him being sick a couple of weeks ago.  Since it has been so long since Corey has had any kind of antibiotic they were able to prescribe a very low dose one that should clear things up.  I will be glad once he is feeling better and hopefully sleeping better.

Hike

Last Saturday we were trying to decide on something fun to do.  Our friend Felicia and her kids came over and we decided it would be fun to take all the kids on a hike.  Wallace Falls is in Gold Bar and is a pretty easy hike so we decided that would be a good one to take the kids on.  It was kind of cold and raining but we went for it anyway.  The kids did great on the way up, we walked about a mile and a half and then stopped for a break.  The boys had been jumping in puddles on the way up so their socks were wet and their feet were cold.  The way down that was all we heard about, they were tired, they were cold, they were GROUCHY!  It's a good thing I had my amazing BOB stroller, at one point we had three kids piled up on it.  That seemed to do the trick and eventually we got back down to the parking lot.  It was a great hike and I would definitely do it again!

Sick Little Guy

I don't know what the deal is but lately Corey has been getting sick a lot.  One cold after another.  Last  night I could hear it coming on in his voice again and by the time he fell asleep he was coughing a lot.  He coughed pretty much all night which kept waking him up.  I let him sleep in my bed with me and once again banished Terence to the couch.  When he woke up this morning he was running a fever and coughing so we kept him home from church.  He has mostly slept today but right now he seems to be feeling a little better.  Hopefully he is fever free by tomorrow so he can go to daycare.  Maybe I need to start feeding him more vitamin C or something.  Or maybe it's just his age and the fact that he goes to a daycare.  At least Connor has not gotten sick (knock on wood).

Alfie Boe Bring Him Home

Yes, I am still on my Les Miserable kick. I can't help myself. I tend to have somewhat of an obsessive personality. In the 25th anniversary concert a singer named Alfie Boe plays the lead of Jean Valjean. He is absolutely incredible! I cannot get enough of him singing the song Bring Him Home. So for your viewing pleasure here is the video of it. Take the 4 minutes to watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Tennis Rackets

After we were done at the suit store we went over to Toy R Us to look for boxing gloves for the boys.  Terence has a heavy bag in the garage and we told the boys we would try to get him some gloves.  Unfortunately kid size boxing gloves is no a toy that is carried by Toys R Us so instead we got the boys tennis rackets.  Terence was really good at Tennis in high school and we thought it would be fun to be able to take the boys to the high school and play.  The weather has been pretty terrible the last few days so we have not had a chance to get out yet but as soon as it clears up we will be out there carrying on the Keenan Family tennis tradition.

Suit Shopping

Yesterday we had to go down to Tukwilla to go suit shopping for Terence.  He has a customer meeting on Monday and needed a new suit for it.  We brought the kids with us so majority of the time I was chasing them around the store instead of helping Terence.  Fortunately for us we had a really nice lady helping us and Terence ended up getting two nice new suits.  They were even able to rush them to get the pants hemmed and everything ready to go.  I'm excited to see what he looks like in the finished product.  Maybe I will post pictures of him if he will let me take any.

if I write it down maybe I will actually do it...

I have not been as good about blogging this year as I would like to be.  I just feel really tired at the end of the day and blogging is not on the top of my list, but I feel like it should be.  So my goal is to catch up this weekend for March.  I am sure I can do that.  So look for a bunch of blogs coming soon!

Random Thoughts

It's been a while since I have done a random thoughts blog so I figure I can get away with it tonight.
  • I am watching Les Mis on KBTC right now
  • I know I'm such a nerd!
  • Corey has come downstairs four times since I put him in bed
  • He's pushing my buttons tonight
  • I ate girl scout cookies for dinner tonight
  • I know, it's not good for me.  I was too lazy to make anything else
  • the kids ate a better dinner then me
  • sometimes you are stuck dealing with people in life that you would rather avoid
  • I'm very blessed to have a good boss at work right now
  • I wish I was an amazing singer
  • my Mom called my cell phone tonight but I missed the call (I guess it could have been a butt dial)
  • I miss my parents!  I have not seen them in a long time
  • I miss Terence's parents, I don't think we have seen them since Corey's birthday
  • I miss my Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  It's been a long time since I have gone down to see them
  • last night I could not sleep and ended up falling back to sleep just as I was supposed to get up
  • no one ever comments on my blog anymore (except for the comment Aunt Pam left on my last one)
  • I have a lot of books I want to read right now but I don't feel like reading
  • I don't feel like doing much of anything right now to be honest
  • I don't have a lot of time to do much of anything right now.  I have not been getting home from work until 5:45-6:00 every night.
  • that leaves just enough time to get dinner done, get the kids ready and off to bed and go to bed myself
  • I think I sound too negative right now
  • sorry about that!  I will be less negative tomorrow

Les Misérables

I loved Les Miserable when I was in junior high. PBS had the 10th anniversary concert that they would play and I would literally watch it every time it was on. It got to the point that my Mom bought me the video of it so I could watch that instead of PBS (my parents have something against public television). I had forgotten how much I love it and over the years did not watch it or listen to the music. On Saturday night I was flipping through the channels and saw that one of them was showing the 25th anniversary concert of Les Mis. I was hooked. I watched the entire thing even though they were doing fundrasing so every 20 minutes they would cut to the people asking for donations. It was still worth it! I downloaded the sountrack on my phone and listened to it pretyt much all day. I just really love the music! This is one of my favorite songs from it.

If...

You are sick of hearing me say how proud I am of my husband then do not read any further.  Terence got a raise at work today.  I'm really proud of him.  He has only been in this job for 8 months and he has done such a great job!  He works really hard and is always looking for new ways to improve his performance and do more.  He loves working for his company and I'm pretty sure the love having him.

I also have to say that Terence has really been working hard recently to help me out around the house and help me with the kids.  The extra help is really appreciated and it makes all the difference in my stress and happiness levels.  I'm extremely blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

It's Love!

I really love my husband!  He's such a great guy and I feel very blessed to have him.  Just thought I would let you all know.

Oh and Connor told Terence and I tonight that Navaya (a girl in his class at daycare) asks to be his girlfriend all the time.  Then he went on to say that Navaya is his girlfriend.  We thought it was pretty cute.
