She's Amazing!!!

This is a couple of days late but I I had to do it anyway, better late then never. Heather's 23rd birthday was Friday the 25th. I love Heather so much! She is one of my absolute best friends and I know I can come to her with anything. We have a blast together and it has been amazing to see her turn into such an awesome, strong women. Heather is one of the best Mom's I know and she is absolutely crazy about her son and husband.

Happy Birthday Snipster! I can't wait to see you next week, Red Robin here we come!

Golf, Shopping and Meydenbauer Park

Today was such a fun day! It started out with Terence getting up at 3:30am to go golfing with his Dad. He had a great game today and hit 100 (this was his first game where he played the game 100% by the rules, normally he cheats a little) not bad!

Since I knew he was going to be gone until 10 or 11 and also knew that he would be super tired when he got home I decided to go out for the morning. I ended up going shopping with my Mom, Heather, baby Brooks and my boys up in North Bend. All of the baby clothes stores were having amazing sales and I think between the three of us we probably bought out the entire place. I can safely say my kids are set for summer clothes! It was so fun to spend some time with my Mom and Heather. I was a little surreal today to be walking around Carters with my two boys and Heather with Brooks and realize that we are actually the grown ups now!

After shopping we headed back to my parents house where I met up with Terence. From there we headed over to our good friends Scott and Melissa's house. Scott had called earlier in the day and suggested that since it was such a nice day we take the boys to the beach to swim. I'm always game for an afternoon at the beach and was all over it. Turns out the beach Scott was talking about was Meydenbauer Beach. Some of my best memories of summers growing up involve swimming at that beach. Back 14 years or so ago we used to ride the bus from Redmond to Bellevue and then walk from the transit center to the beach. We would swim all day and then walk back to my Mom's office and she would take us home when she got off work.It was so fun to see my boys swimming at the same place! Connor is a water baby and absolutely loved it! I was amazed how brave he was, he walked right in and loved jumping over the waves. Corey was content to stand on the beach and throw mud. It brought back some great memories and I am sure we will take the kids there again soon.

Why the Long Face?

Tomorrow is Terence's 27th birthday! It's a little crazy to think that Terence was 17 years old when we started dating, needless to say we are getting old! For those of you who do not understand the title of this blog I will explain. When Terence and I started dating he was a little thinner then he is now. Terence is really tall and when he was really skinny it accentuated his face. My cousins noticed this and started calling him Terence "long face" Keenan and the name stuck. I would go into a long blog about how much I love Terence and how lucky I am to have him but...I just did that for our anniversary. So I will leave it at this, Happy Birthday Terence!!!! I love you so much!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is Terence's and my five year wedding anniversary. I cannot believe that it has been five years already! Terence is such a wonderful person and I am so lucky to have him. He is an amazing father, amazing husband and seriously one of the funniest people I know. He is always supportive of me and what I want to do and if I have learned one thing in the past five years it's that no matter what life throws our way we can get through it together. Terence also honors his priesthood and is a wonderful example to our children. I am excited to see what the next five, ten and fifteen years have to bring. Happy Anniversary Terence! I love you!

Mother's Day

I know I am 1000 years behind on blogging but I have some time tonight so I figured I would do some catching up. Mother's Day this year was so much fun. Terence tried to let me sleep in but I could hear Corey at the bottom of the stairs saying Mama over and over again so I just got up and came down. Terence made Pancakes form me which were really good. Then we went to church and after church we went over to Jared and Emily's house for burritos and hanging out with the family. It was a great day!

Is Sultan Redneck???

So there has always been the question as to Sultan being a redneck town or not. That is still up for debate but maybe the following video will bring some clarity to this life-long question. This is also not a first time occurrence. These feathered friends of ours walked through our front yard the other day. So could Jeff Foxworthy now add to his routine; you might be a redneck if you have peacocks strolling through your yard.

It's a Homer!

So tonight Terence and I were talking and we made a deal. Before I tell you what that is I should give you a little back story. When Terence and I first got married we agreed that we would have three-four kids as we have had children I think it has made Terence a little gun shy about having more. Having them so close together probably didn't help anything. Because of that Terence has been kind of against having another baby.

Fast forward to tonight when we were watching the Simpson's Terence and I made a deal. We could have another baby (not anytime soon but at some point) on one condition. If it's a boy his middle name has to be Homer. I'm pretty sure he's kidding but I made the deal anyway. If I go back on it it won't be the first time I have backed out of a middle name agreement (Lindo). So now my biggest dilemma is finding a first name that goes along with Homer Keenan. Any suggestions?

10 minute mile

I have been working out a lot lately and really trying to get in shape. This has not been an easy road for me and the weight has not come off as easily as I would like it to. So for that reason I decided that instead of focusing solely on losing weight I would set some other goals for myself. One was to run a mile in under 10 minutes. When I first started working out I was lucky if I could finish a mile in 15 minutes but over these past few weeks I have really tried to push myself. Today I accomplished my goal of running a mile in 9:55! My new goal is to run a mile in 9:00 minutes which I now feel is within my reach! Wish me luck!

Surprise! Happy Birthday!

As you all know last week was my Mom's birthday. My Mom has gone a lot of years without having any kind of big birthday celebration. Being a Mom she would put everyone else before herself. This year we decided it would be really fun to throw her a surprise party. After a couple of weeks of plotting we settled on the 13th of February (that way we knew for sure it would be a surprise). We had my Dad take her and the dogs to the dog park for their walk which is their usual routine and then we swooped in and set up. Jared and Emily bought a ton of cute tropical decorations, Brian made amazing enchilada's, and Terence and I bought the cake and ice cream. We hid all of our cars down at Redmond Elementary school. When my Mom and Dad got home we jumped out with the traditional SURPRISE! The party was a lot of fun and I think my Mom really enjoyed it! Happy (late) Birthday Mom!

Cherry Hill 09

Hey Family! I am arranging our camp sites and such for Cherry Hill this summer. If you would like me to reserve a campsite for you please let me know. The dates that I have for us to be there are July 9th-13th. They are only open for a very short period of time Monday through Friday so they are hard to get a hold of so I want to make sure we account for everyone.

Corey's first haircut

Terence and I have established a tradition with our kids that we don't cut their hair until their first birthday. I was planning on having a friend of ours cut Corey's hair since she cuts my hair and she gave Connor his first haircut. However her little girl had her tonsils out the week after Corey's birthday and she was a little busy taking care of her, so I did not ask her to do it. Instead I decided I would take care of it myself. HAHA! The way I cut hair is to put a guard on the clippers and cut it all down to one length. I put Corey in the highchair gave him something to play with and set to work.

After! Terence was not home and did not know I was cutting his hair, when he got home he thought at first glance that Corey was Connor. I have to say with the shorter hair they do look an awful lot alike! It turned out pretty cute, although next time I will probably leave the haircutting to the pros.

My (not so) Dirty Little Secret

I am not the best at house work. After working all day coming home feeding and bathing the boys and then working for 2 more hours after they go to bed I just don't have a ton of time to do it. Terence is pretty good about helping out (in fact as I type this he is out cleaning the garage) but sometimes things just start to pile up. My laundry seems to be the ultimate example of this. It always gets washed but I am horrible at folding it when it comes out of the dryer. As a consequence it piles up for months on the floor of my closet.

The other day I finally told myself I was just going to do it. I took all the laundry that was on the floor of my closet and piled it up in my living room. As you can see I was not exaggerating, it was a huge pile! The boys had fun jumping off the couch into it.Well I buckled down and folded and folded and folded! Corey had fun coming behind me and unfolding everything I had already done which made it take twice as long.

About 6 hours, 8 bags for the DI and a huge bin plus two garbage bags full of baby clothes later I was done!
The lesson I have learned from all of this is to just fold the clothes when they come out of the dryer. It has been about a week since my laundry folding marathon and I am happy to say I have no unfolded clothes piled up in my closet right now. Hopefully I can keep it that way.

Twilight DVD

The Twilight DVD comes out March 21st and I have to say I am totally excited for it! I already ordered my copy. I know I'm a nerd...what can I say.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Birthday

As mentioned in my previous post today was Corey's birthday. We had a little party for him with Terence's parents, my Mom and Dad, Jared and Emily and Brian. With some Christmas money that I received I bought myself a deep fryer (I know that should be great for my resolution) and we had a fry fest. I was inspired by Aunt Pam's recipe for krokets and decided I would take a crack at it. This was my finished product, they actually turned out really well for a first try.

Oddly enough krokets seem to be an acquired taste and were not huge among the party goers tonight so I have lots of left overs (good thing they freeze well). In addition to krokets I also made lumpia and bloomin onions (no leftover there). After dinner we did the traditional opening of presents but Corey did not seem too interested so Connor ended up doing most of it. I don't think that bothered either of them too much.

Of course this being his first birthday we had to give Corey his own cake. He LOVED it! I found a miniature cake when I was at the store yesterday. It was the perfect size. He was not shy about digging in. Connor helped him a little with that too.

By the end of the night Corey was pretty tired and decided that falling asleep in Grammy's lap sounded like a pretty good idea.

Jared on the other hand was ready to party all night!

Corey was born exactly a year ago today at 7:03 PM he weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long.

Corey is such an amazing little person. He brings so much to our family and we are so lucky to have him. It is amazing to me how different kids can be from each other the second they are born. Corey is so goofy and you can tell he's always looking for something to get into (which can be a pain but is also pretty funny). Not only was today his first birthday but he also took his first step this week and stood up on his own for the first time. I could not be more proud of both of my children. Terence and I are truly blessed. Happy 1st birthday Corey!
