Yesterday when I got home from work Terence had to run to the library to work on his project for his class so I was home alone with the kids. I have really been neglecting my house recently as Saturdays when I normally clean have been chalk full of other activities. So I figured I would get started and see what I could get done. I am one of those people who once I start cleaning I get on a roll and won’t stop until I’m done or I run out of time. I successfully cleaned our bathroom, gave the kids a bath (had to see if we could get more nail polish off of Connor), cleaned our bedroom, the boys bedroom, changed all the sheets on the beds, cleaned the toy room, cleaned the family room, organized the shoes and the front hall closet, dining room, kitchen, swept, moped and vacuumed. It took me a little over three hours, the kids at dinner and watched cars while I did most of the downstairs staff. I have to say I am thrilled that my house is clean and actually I really enjoy doing it. Cleaning to me is very therapeutic and at the end you get to sit down and enjoy the results.
Also yesterday Terence had one of those days. I am sure you know the kind. He was woken up by Connor painting himself head to toe in a deep purple hued nail polish (hence the bath). He thought not such a big deal threw the boys in the bath trying to get some of it off and then took them downstairs for breakfast. Connor is going through a phase right now where he is just ornery as heck! He throws fits, he’s stubborn, and he never does something the first time we ask. It’s extremely frustrating especially for Terence who is home with them all day. Well yesterday Connor decided he was upset about something and threw a Correll plat against the dishwasher. Correll is pretty durable unless you hit it just right in which case it shatters into a million pieces. Of course one of the pieces got lodged in Corey’s foot and Terence had to get it out, while dealing with Connor and trying to clean up the mess. Hopefully today is better for him. What we are really hoping for is that Terence will get a job soon that will allow him and me to trade places and I can be home with the kids. Please keep our family in your prayers as we can truly use all the help we can get.
