Morning Drive

Today as I was driving into work I was praying. I typically will pray as I drive as it’s one of the few times that I have an opportunity to just sit and have quiet. As I finished my prayer I was listening for answers. One of the things that I have been praying about is whether or not Terence will get this job he interviewed for and in my prayer I asked that I can accept Heavenly Father’s will whatever it may be. As I was thinking about it the song “Come Listen to a Prophets Voice” popped into my head. I have been listening to all of the conference talks at work this week to get caught up on them but had not yet listened to the entire Sunday afternoon session. I felt very strongly that I should go and read President Monson’s talk from that session. After I got to work I pulled the talk up and this is what the first lines of the talk say:

“Our Heavenly Father is mindful of us. Of that I testify. I acknowledge His hand in all things.
One brief scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”1
That has been the story of my life.”

What a powerful way for Heavenly Father to remind me that he is aware of me and the things that my family is going through. I’m grateful for that message, that He guides and directs me in my life and that I am able to feel his spirit and know of his promptings. This scripture above (which can be found in Proverbs 3:5-6) gives me peace that everything will be alright and I just need to trust that the Lord knows what he is doing and will look after my family.
