Random thought

A couple of days ago I did not blog so now I am behind. Hopefully I can get two blogs done today and that will get me caught up.

This was a totally random thought that I had at 3:30 this morning (after getting Corey back to bed for the 3rd time). I tend to get myself locked into things. No I am not speaking metaphorically; I mean I literally get locked into things. I could not tell you the first time it happened but it has definitely happened more than once. The most memorable was the time I locked myself in the trunk of a car on a ferry. Talk about one of the single most embarrassing moments of my life. Long story short; my family had a rental car and I thought it would be hilarious to climb into the trunk and when my family got back to the car I would pop out and scare them. A few lessons I learned from this:

1. Make sure if you hide in the trunk it has an emergency release.
2. If you are going to have the key to the car in your hand make sure you leave at least one of the doors unlocked.
3. If you do find yourself climbing into the trunk of a car for inexplicable reasons don’t do it on a ferry that is literally docking.
4. Make sure you have your sister or someone else there to cover your head with their sweatshirt once the ferry workers slim Jim your car to get you out and realize you are a 17 year old girl.  When this happened they all started applauding and cheering loudly (and laughing hysterically). Seriously, so embarrassing!

Another time that I got locked in was on my first anniversary. Terence and I had gone up to this resort near the Canadian border called Semiahmoo. It was beautiful! This was back when Terence still worked graveyard and after driving for 3 hours and working all night he was exhausted and decided to take a nap. With nothing else to do I decided to explore our room. The bathroom had one of those pocket doors with a little latch lock on it. I closed the door and locked it and then could not unlock it! I tried for a good 10 minutes to get out on my own and couldn’t. Terence was sound asleep in the other room and could not hear me calling for him. I figured he could not sleep for too much longer and decided to wait it out. After about half an hour he still had not woken up. I started pounding on the door and yelling. He finally heard me and came to try and help me but he could not get the door open either. After a good 45 minutes of being locked in the bathroom Terence called the front desk and we had to have one of their maintenance people come and let me out. Also super embarrassing!

Anyway no moral to this story, just was thinking about this at 3:30 in the morning and thought I would share. I know, random.

That may have been the single most embarrassing moment of your life but it goes down in history as one of the funniest things I ever saw. You didn't mention the family standing at the edge of the ferry watching it dock while the car was rocking and rolling behind us. So hilarious!
