Visitors from the North

The weekend before Labor day we took a couple of days off to spend together and had our great friends Lee and Amanda come and visit with their cute kids Isla (Isla's all over the place!) and Clark.  We spent time chatting and catching up while the kids played together.  On the first day they were there we grilled some burgers, went fishing and let the kids play in the water at the river and taught Lee and Amanda how to play pinochle.  It does not matter who I play with, I ALWAYS lose pinochle!  It was so relaxing and wonderful just to catch up with them.  Our kids got along great as well.  Lee and Amanda are the kind of friends we can go years without seeing but pick up right where we left off every time.  The next morning we got up, had some breakfast and then took the kids out to Lake Tye to swim.  It was a beautiful sunny day but the wind was blowing at the lake so it was a little cold.  The kids played in the water and us adults attempted it but mostly chickened out.  We got the kids changed and took them to play on the playground for a while.  All of us ended taking a turn on the mary go round and getting very dizzy!

After Lake Tye we headed over to our other good friends Dan and Susan's house for some amazing dinner and even more great company.  We reminisced about back in the day when the six of us used to hang out before we had kids and how much fun we had.  Now between the six of us there are 8 kids!  It was so fun to catch up with friends and the night ended way to early as we had to get home so Terence could get ready for his trip.  I hope we can get together again soon!  It was wonderful to see all of them.

It was a good weekened, wasn't it? I totally agree that you guys are the kind of friends you can see only once in a while, but things pick up right where they left off. Someday in this next week I will have posted about our visit!
