Today Terence and I were trying to decide what to do with the kids. We wanted to get out and burn some energy and do something as a family that did not involve spending money. Recently we have been exploring all the wonderful options nature has to offer us so close to our home. We have been out to numerous parks and rivers playing and fishing. Today we decided we would head up to Deception Falls which is a waterfall about 45 minutes east of our house up towards the pass. It was beautiful! Even though it was cold and rainy at our house it was sunny and about 10 degrees warmer up the pass. There is a short trail that loops around and was a perfect beginner trail for the kids. They did awesome, stayed right with us and were really good about staying on the trail. Terence, of course, had to be adventurous and walk across the river to go stick his head under the falls. He fell in on the way out and said the water was really cold! I laughed pretty hard when he fell in because I knew he was going to. The kids loved throwing rocks in the river, although the love throwing rocks just about anywhere. It was a great way for all of us to get out of the house and get some exercise. We will definitely be going back again!
