It has now been two full weeks since I became the mother of three. I can say that in some ways it has not been as stressful as I would have imagined and in unexpected ways it has been way more stressful! Tyson was much smaller than I expected him to be and as you can tell from my previous posts that has proven to be hard. The round the clock feedings and making sure that he is getting enough to eat has been the toughest part. Waking up a sleeping baby who has little to no interest in eating just to sit there and try and get them to eat for an hour sometimes longer while both of us get frustrated was not fun. It is however worth it! It has also paid off. I took Tyson in for his 3rd weight check yesterday and he was up to 6lbs 7oz and the doctor said I do not have to supplement anymore! He also said that if Tyson wanted to go longer in between feedings at night then we could let him! He is still a wonderful baby and we are still over the moon for him! He is very relaxed and is pretty content all the time (unless we are trying to get him to eat). He is not bothered by all the noise in our house which is good because with two older brothers the noise level is up pretty much all the time. As for how his brothers are adjusting I would say they are doing really well. Corey was kind of indifferent to Tyson when we first brought him home but now he and Connor both adore him. In fact if anything I think they wish they could be more involved. Since Tyson is so little and more prone to getting sick and the boys are at an age where they are, as my doctor described “germ factories” they are not allowed to touch him. So the boys can look at him and they can talk to him but they cannot hug or kiss him or anything like that. Once he gets a little bigger that will change but for now we don’t want to take any chances.
I am absolutely in love with being the Mom of three boys. When we found out Tyson was a boy I was slightly disappointed that I would not be getting a little girl. Now that Tyson is here I cannot imagine him being anything but my little guy! I think having three boys is going to be a great adventure! So far I love it!
